How These Rankings Are Built
Each occupation's AI Exposure Score (0-100) is a composite of five dimensions: task routine-intensity from O*NET, the academic AIOE exposure index, physical-presence requirements, cognitive-complexity scoring, and current technology-adoption signals from employer data.
Wage, employment, and growth figures come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) and the 10-year employment projections published annually.
The Automation Timelineclassification (e.g., 1-3 years, 3-5 years, 5-10 years, 10+ years) blends the composite score with an assessment of how close current-generation AI is to reliably handling each occupation's tasks end-to-end.
