Life Flight Network (LFN) is a nationally-recognized, not-for-profit air medical service based in Aurora, Oregon. LFN began operations in 1978 as Emanuel Life Flight and was the first hospital-based air ambulance service provider on the West Coast and only the fourth in the nation. It is now owned by a consortium of Oregon Health & Science University, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, and Providence Health & Services - Oregon. LFN offers air and ground transport across the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West. LFN has grown into the largest not-for-profit emergency air medical service provider in the western United States. The program's bases in the region include: Ontario, Aurora, La Grande, Redmond, Pendleton, Astoria and Cottage Grove, Oregon; Boise, Eagle, Pocatello, Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene, Rexburg, Burley and Lewiston, Idaho; Longview and Dallesport, Washington; and Butte, Montana. LFN currently has a combined fleet of medical helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and ground ambulances.
